As several Liverpool players close in on a second Premier League title, four of their former Reds team-mates are closing in on national titles elsewhere

Liverpool is closing in on the Premier League title. The Reds boast a 13-point lead at the top of the table and need just six points from their final six games to be crowned champions.
Should Arne Slot’s men indeed come out on top, Liverpool will be crowned champions of England for a joint-record 20th time. And while they ended a 30-year drought when they last won the league in 2020, this season would mark the first time supporters can celebrate properly since 1990 after the Coronavirus pandemic disrupted their last triumph.
Nine members of Slot’s squad are survivors of Jurgen Klopp’s title-winning side. Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Andy Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah were all regulars under the German, while Curtis Jones made enough Premier League appearances to win a medal in his own right.
Meanwhile, Harvey Elliott and Caoimhin Kelleher were also on the fringes of Klopp’s squad that season.
In total, Klopp fielded 24 players in the Premier League that year, with Elliott the only player not to make at least five appearances to automatically qualify for a winner’s medal. A further five players, including Kelleher, were named in at least one matchday squad without making an actual appearance.
